How to install Lumion View

Just follow these steps and you’ll start visualizing in no time:

  1. Go to your Lumion Account

  2. Download Lumion View

  3. Open SketchUp and go to Extensions Manager

  4. Click Install Extension and select the Lumion View file

  5. Once installed, you will see a new Lumion View toolbar

  6. Click the lightning icon⚡to launch Lumion View

  7. You’ll be prompted to log in with your Lumion Account credentials

That’s it! Enjoy designing with Lumion View.

How do I get access to Lumion View?

Lumion View for SketchUp is now available in Early Access and free to all Lumion Pro subscribers.

If you’re already using Lumion Pro, simply follow these steps:

  • Log into your Lumion Account to download Lumion View Early Access for SketchUp.
  • Invite your team. You can add and assign up to 10 users for Lumion View for every Lumion Pro seat you have on your Lumion Pro subscription. See how.

If you’re not using Lumion Pro or SketchUp, no worries! Join the waitlist and you’ll be the first to know when it becomes broadly available to the market.

Which CAD/BIM software is Lumion View available for?

What hardware do i need to run Lumion View?

How does Lumion View differ from Lumion Pro

  • Lumion View is a lightweight, real-time design tool perfect for early-stage visualization directly inside your modeling software.

  • Lumion Pro offers advanced rendering capabilities with full creative control over context, realism, effects, and final output.

How does Lumion View differ from Lumion LiveSync?

  • Lumion View is a real-time visualization tool directly integrated into your modeling software, allowing you to explore and refine ideas with intuitive controls. Lumion View is now available for SketchUp, with more integrations coming soon.

  • Lumion LiveSync is a free plug-in that allows you to create a real-time connection between your CAD software and Lumion Pro so that you can model and visualize simultaneously or easily re-import your model. This means that when you make changes to your model, they’ll be instantly reflected in Lumion Pro. Lumion LiveSync is available for SketchUp, Revit, Archicad, AutoCAD, Vectorworks, and more.

Can I use Lumion View and Lumion Pro together?

Yes you can!

  • Lumion View provides a fast, intuitive way to explore and refine your design right from the start, giving you instant visual feedback as you model in SketchUp.
  • When you’re ready to add detail, build full environments, or create immersive animations, Lumion Pro has everything you need to bring your project to life.

Lumion View will be compatible with the upcoming version of Lumion—Lumion 2025—for a smooth, connected workflow.

I'ma student, can I use Lumion View?

While in Early Access, Lumion View is not yet available for students. You’ll be able to access Lumion View for free, when it becomes available to the market, as long as you have a Lumion Student license. You can request Lumion Student here.
